Boy Scouts Help Police Nab Couple Suspected of Embezzling $5,000 from Cub Scouts

Boy Scouts on a trip to South Alabama from Talladega, helped police capture a couple accused of embezzling approximately $5,000 from a Cub Scout Pack in Talladega.  The Scouts recognized the couple while eating breakfast in a restaurant on Monday morning.  The Scouts informed their leader, who notified local authorities.

James and Mary Kruithof were arrested on two outstanding felony warrants from Talladega.  The Kruithofs, while serving as the Cub Master and a Den Mother allegedly embezzled $5,000 the Cub Scouts were saving for a trip to Disney World in 2003.  Police said the couple will be returned to Talladega to face charges.
