2007 Verdugo Hills Council Bike Rodeo

The Verdugo Hills Council hosted its 2007 Cub Scout Bike Rodeo at Jefferson Elementary in Glendale on June 9, 2007. This event was fabulous with over 35 Cub Scouts, siblings, and prospective boys to Cub Scouting from the area taking part in all the activities of the Rodeo. Rodeo participants took part in pre-ride bike checks, a bike repair station; bike feats for participants included a “crazy crossroads,” a street course, mounting & dismounting, weaving & maneuvering, a “crazy 8” course, and tossing the paper into baskets.

The afternoon was highlighted with the appearance of National Bike Trials Champion Zak Maeda. Zak demonstrated the use of his pro bike and skill in maneuvering onto and over various objects and even people. All this was made possible through the leadership of Rodeo chairman, Greg Granja, as well as Rodeo staff members David Potter, Joe Davenport, Patricia Granja, Bruce Redmon, Jackie Lawrence, Theresa Coria and Life Scout Ben Granja.
