2008 St. Cloud Morning Optimist Club Youth Award Winners

Congratulations to Trevor Davis of Troop 13 and Evan Neu of Troop 18, both of Central Minnesota Council, named the 2008 St. Cloud Morning Optimist Club Youth Award winners. Chartered in 1973, the St. Cloud Morning Optimist Club members represent a cross section of their community. Club members recognize their civic responsibilities and join together voluntarily in thought and action for the good of the community.

Trevor Davis is a Life Scout, who has earned 24 merit badges to date, and he is an Order of the Arrow member. Trevor serves as Senior Patrol Leader, troop scribe, and he is a counselor at Many Point Scout Camp. Trevor attends Tech High School in St. Cloud where he is involved in JV lacrosse and soccer. Trevor also plays city league baseball and has a red belt in Tae Kwon Do. Trevor has participated in a Philmont High Adventure trek and he is coordinating his troop’s trip to the Florida High Adventure Sea Base this year. Trevor is a BSA Lifeguard and Red Cross certified in CPR and First Aid. He has also earned a Parvuli Dei religious award.

Evan Neu has been an Explorer Scout and he is an Eagle Scout. Evan attends Cathedral High School where he is involved in track and fi eld as well as football. Evan also started a Fishing Club and is part of the mini-singers at Cathedral. Evan is a staff member for the Alpha Lupus winter camp program.
