I can understand the need to promote this as a “safe event” after what happened last Jamboree but I think putting that it is going to be the “safest jamboree” in the promotional video is a tad overboard…

I originally was planning on applying to staff this Jamboree but unfortunately like in 2005 I believe a military commitment is going to prevent me from doing it.

I can, however recommend, that every Scout make it to a Jamboree, they are a blast, I went in 1997. This one should be one of the best due to the anniversary.

The video looks good but advertising this as the “safest” ever seems odd. Who wants to go to something that is safe, kids want excitement with a hint of danger. Parents want to know that their kids will be safe but you don’t sell an event by promoting that as one of the main features.

Why something so short and non-informational. It’ll take much more time to set up the equipment for a Troop promotion than to view the video. The clips are too short to really show anything. It’s not that they don’t have video footage!!

I guess it’s supposed to be cool. It fails on every level!!
