Camp Maple Dell Reopening August 4th, 2008

Posted on 01 August 2008 by Dan

Utah National Parks Council announced that Camp Maple Dell will reopen on August 4th. Camp Maple Dell, located in Payson Canyon, performed a precautionary evacuation last Friday in advance of a wildfire which started near Spring Lake, just south of Payson. All Scouts and their leaders were successfully moved out of the canyon, and returned home. Everyone is safe and accounted for.

Authorities have now authorized the re-opening of the camp for full summer camp use. Those who are scheduled to attend Camp Maple Dell beginning on August 4 should continue with their plans to be at camp on Monday morning.

As of Sunday morning, the canyon is free of smoke and residents have returned to their homes.

You may contact Camp Maple Dell by calling 801-465-2272 for any additional information.
