Trone®, one of the largest privately held advertising, public relations and relationship marketing agencies in the Southeast, will begin work immediately as the agency of record for the Boy Scouts of America’s Old North State Council (ONSC). Trone will primarily focus its efforts on the Boy Scouts of America’s 100th anniversary campaign.

“The Old North State Council is thrilled to partner with Trone,” said John Meeks, executive director for the ONSC. “The multifaceted nature of the 100th anniversary campaign is a perfect fit for Trone’s capabilities and we are excited for what lies ahead.”

The campaign is expected to kick off in August 2009 and run through 2010, the 100th anniversary year.

“Several of our employees were scouts themselves, so we understand and have a vested interest in the culture of the Boy Scouts of America,” said Doug Barton, managing partner at Trone. “The Boy Scouts are known for positively shaping the lives of our youth and we look forward to embracing that spirit with the 100th anniversary campaign.”

Trone has provided strategic development and advertising services for the ONSC since 2003.

The Old North State Council, headquartered in Greensboro, N.C., covers an eight-county area including Alamance, Caswell, Davie, Davidson, Guilford, Person, Randolph and Rockingham counties. The council serves over 10,000 young people annually in the Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Venturing and Learning for Life programs. For more information, please visit www.bsaonsc.org.
