Boyce, alone. Edgar M. Robinson and Lee F. Hanmer separately became interested in the early Scouting movement (and the organizational name "Boy Scouts of America," which had been registered legally by Boyce) and convinced Boyce to turn his "program" (and its name) over to their "Committee on Organization" for development of a nationwide, American version of Baden-Powell's "English Scouting" in April 1910. (The YMCA only provided temporary facilities in New York but was never involved in the actual organization of the BSA.) Robinson had enlisted Seton, Beard, Charles A.
