12th Edition Boy Scout Handbook Cover?

Posted on 11 May 2009 by Dan

12th Edition Boy Scout HandbookLast year it was announced a North Carolina advertising agency, Enventys, had landed a contract with the Boy Scouts of America to redesign the Boy Scout Handbook. Enventys is a Charlotte based product development and creative-marketing company, which was founded in 2001.

Checking out the Enventys’ website, you can see a design of the cover of a Boy Scout Handbook. Is it the 12th edition? The company’s website doesn’t say but the intel seems to point in that direction.

Personally, I am not a fan. I understand the handbook is supposed to be a special anniversary edition but I think the image is too outdated. Sticking with their base concept, I think it would have been better to have a current picture on top, instead of one that looks like its from the 70s. That way you’d tie in current times with the historical Scout image on the lower left. Just my thoughts.

Never did like those Gomer Pyle hats. Be nice, though, if the book was actually useful. Maybe Scouts would actually pick it up!
