Alex Lloyd Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg Race Report

After qualifying gremlins on Saturday relegated the talented Lloyd to starting 22nd for today’s running of the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, the Boy Scouts Car would soldier forward during the race.

Starting on what was a damp race track the surface was quickly drying after the night rains. The start was declared a dry start and Alex quickly moved up to 19th position improving from his starting position.

While chasing down the 18th place car Alex got wide coming out of turn 10 and hit the outside wall. Suspension damage to the left front and right rear would end his day after 14 laps.

The Dale Coyne Racing team now moves on to prepare for the Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park just outside Birmingham, Alabama on April 11th.
