Scouting Speakers Bank Closed

Posted on 28 January 2012 by ScoutingNewsStaff

The Speakers Bank for BSA has been a great source of great dynamic speakers. They have provided a means to promote Scouting to community organizations. As of last month though, the Bank is closing to new members. The Speakers Bank will continue to supply speech templates and award Speakers Patches and Speakers Knot.

Just curious what the source is on this. This recent post by Mike Walton is pretty specific that the Speakers Knot is discontinued:

I only ask because I was working towards that knot and would *love* to hear that it’s still available! Thanks! :)

Hey Gregg – here is the Source from ScoutSource. Apparently they will not allow any new members, but current members of the Speaker Bank can still obtain the patch/knot. From Settummanque’s article though, you better hurry up!
