Bill Marriott’s Lessons Learned as a Boy Scout

Bill Marriott, Chairman & CEO of Marriott International, has published a piece about Scouting on his Professional Blog.

Many years ago, I joined Boy Scout Troop 241 in Chevy Chase, Maryland. It was one of the most rewarding and difficult experiences of my life. Finally, I achieved the highest Boy Scout honor, that of becoming an Eagle Scout. It took a lot of hard work and determination.

He talks about his achievements as a Scout, his family’s Scouting tradition, giving back to Scouting, and his excitement about hiring former Scouts. It is a motivational piece that could be tied into a Scoutmaster Minute, Training Piece, or Eagle Scout motivation.

This was a great read. I hope National is working on more positive press like this.
