Troop Loses Everything in Fire

KANSAS CITY, MO – Parishioners and Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 60 are working side-by-side to clean up after a fire destroyed more than walls and tents. The fire started at Westport Presbyterian Church due to an accidental spark while crews installed an AC unit. The Troop lost tents, pictures, awards, and other memorabilia from the unit’s 98 year history. The church was equally impacted. For over 100 years the building served the members of Westport Presbyterian. For now the Church and the Troop will strengthen their ties even stronger as they set out the task of helping each other rebuild.

Donations to help replace the troop’s equipment can make them in the name of “Troop 60 Fund” to the Heart of America Council.
